In 1993, Girl Skateboards started inside a warehouse of XLARGE® on Rosslyn street in Atwater Village where many fashion conscious people gathered. Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman and, Spike Jonze, who was already working with the Beastie Boys and is one of the founders of Girl Skateboards, also worked there.  Creations such as XLARGE®, Grand Royal, and Girl Skateboards were made inside the same building by Gen-X.  Chocolate had started out in the same warehouse in 1994.  Evan Hecox became the art director and Chocolate sponsored different riders, creating different styles from Girl Skateboards style.

In those days, Rudy Johson(Girl), Tim Gavin(Girl), Gabriel Rodriguez(Chocolate), Keenan Milton(Chocolate), Chico Brenes(Chocolate), and riders of XLA (the skateboard collection XLARGE® started in 2001) Paula Diaz and Billy Valdez were regulars through the XLARGE® HQ and store on Vermont in Los Feliz. A year later in 1995, Chocolate moved to Torrance starting Fourstar Clothing, Royal Trucks, and Lakai Limited Footwear growing into big skateboard company.

This “Bring Back” collaboration collection represents the partnership of both brands. The collaborative products features “xlarge” logo in Chocolate font and OG Gorilla in a hand-painted print.
